It has been designed to help members manage the cost of workplace conflict.  Early intervention can help minimise costs, and mediation can be particularly useful in resolving conflicts arising from interpersonal and relationship issues. It can also help avoid or resolve formal grievances, which typically cost up to £1,000 per grievance in management time. The issues that can be addressed via mediation include relationship breakdown, communication problems, and resolution of grievances.
